Great Gifts Holiday Shop!

Dear friends, as usual I am terrible at posting in a timely fashion, especially lately as work picks up and so does the holiday frenzy. But oddly enough this post has to do with both work, and holiday shopping.



Sarah Carr, The Bridge, and many other tireless volunteers and organizers have pulled together an awesome month long shop (!) that will be open every day in December at The Bridge PAI, beginning this Friday, December 3rd. It will feature the work of about 40 different vendors, myself included, and I encourage everyone to go check it out. I can't wait to see all the awesome goodies up for sale!

Between prepping for this gift show, visiting the family in North Carolina, and my regular job, I have been a little distracted, but in a good way! Being busy usually means I'm surrounded by friends and social activities, and this week will be no different. A much needed ladies' knitting night tomorrow, followed by an impromptu business trip to NYC early next week (and I'll be going up a day early to visit Miss Romeo, among others). I am not ready for the new york cold, but sitting in my barely heated apartment for the next few days should be training enough. In serious need of a space heater over here, people.

A short escape.

I spent the last weekend down in Bristol with one miss Ginny Harr, and we had a great time catching up, cruising on a lake, and listening to tunes at the Rhythm and Roots Reunion Festival. Many great times were had, and we bounced around from performers like the Felice Brothers, Ricky Skaggs, Shotgun Party, and a few others. Most of all, I loved getting to sneak a peek into her family's life and history. Gin, I'm so glad I have you.

When I left Charlottesville on Friday I was a total stress mess. A weekend spent down south relaxing really helped.

TW + RL

Back from Torrey and Robby's wedding and in addition to it being incredibly beautiful it was also a great time. Between all of the aschoolers in attendance and the band that played everything from "build me up buttercup" to "bad romance," it was wonderfully fun. Congrats to the happy couple! They are both such great people and I'm so thankful to have been present on their special day.

Weekend Adventure

So last weekend, as i mentioned before, my friends and I headed out of town to avoid the UVA graduation crowds (though we ended up having breakfast and dinner in charlottesville so I don't know if we really avoided anything). So after much consideration, we went to Staunton. I hadn't been there before, and we all wanted to go to Blackfriar's, which is the playhouse for the American Shakespeare Center, so we went for an afternoon performance of Romeo & Juliet. (This would incidentally lead me to purchasing Romeo+Juliet yesterday for dirt cheap at target)

The play was awesome and I definitely recommend going to see something at Blackfriar's if you haven't before. But before and after the show, we just wondered around downtown Staunton, which was a little quiet since it was Sunday. But overall it was a great time, as you can see.

And then we headed back to c-ville, but not before stopping at one of the scenic overlooks. Virginia you really are lovely.

It's Friday

And it's graduation weekend here in Charlottesville, the time once a year when every hotel is full and unless you are partaking in the festivities, leaving the house is not a very desirable option. So instead my friends and I are leaving town. Destination is yet to be determined, but I'll let you know where we end up. Here's hoping your weekend is calm and restful.

My Weekend

James, Ashley and I went up to new york this weekend to visit friends, and did a lot of fooding and roaming around the city. I got to hit up a lot of great restaurants (like Jadis with Dianne, Carly, and Travis), drink amazing coffee every morning (mmmm Gorilla Coffeeee), and checked out Greenwich Letterpress. So fun. Here are a few little photographic tidbits from our adventures.

Spend nothing weekend

With prepping to move to a new apartment, I'm pretty tight on money. I went to see Away We Go tonight, which was AMAZING! So much better than I expected it to be! Definitely worth the ticket price.

But for the rest of the weekend I will have to do things that don't cost anything, like maybe this

It's Friday - Movie Time

Happy weekend everyone. My weekend should be a good one, though I have piles of laundry and packing to do for my weeklong trip to Los Angeles next week to meet this little guy:

I'll also be working on a few little projects for some tote bags, going through my belongings to give away before move to my new apartment, and going to see this movie that I am quite excited for, probably just because i love Jim.
