Just because you asked

So Thanksgiving sort of threw me for a loop and I haven't posted in awhile. I have been starting to collect items for christmas gifts, and today, out of a desperate lack of shelving in my room, I decided to go to lowe's.

I have been spending lots of time browsing the ReadyMade Project Archive and trying to find the perfect diy cure to my shelving needs. I went to Lowe's and thought something might just come to me...but the big saw was broken, and the Lowe's Home Organization section leaves much to be desired.

So now, with (2) 3 ft. long planks of wood, 2 Yaffa blocks I've had in my closet since the start of college (oh, the obligatory freshman Yaffa blocks), and a strand of never used pink flamingo lights, I have created my makeshift shelving unit. I'm hoping to replace the yaffas with something wooden and from Ikea over Christmas. Maybe one of those nifty little drawer pull out things. I might post photos when I have it all set up just how I want it. Believe me, it's a lot less tacky than it sounds.
