Autumn in the Woods

Autumn always seems like the perfect time to enjoy something woodsy, especially if it's made from actual wood. Here are just a few of my favorite "woodsy" items that I would love to add to my collection.

Scenic views of switzerland aka a little dose of architecture

I have long been accumulating up a list of buildings to go see whenever i should end up in switzerland, and i think I might add this one to the pile. "Evolver is a wooden construction build by 2nd year students from the ALICE Studio at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. When you walk through it, you’ll make a 720° turn and have an amazing panorama on the surroundings of Zermatt." Also it looks like it was made with popsicle sticks

Wild Things Forts!

booooooom had an awesome competition recently for the best "Where the Wild Things are" fort. They remind me of all the two chairs and a sheet fort that I used to make, only sadly, I never got quite as skilled with my decorating. I love them all.

So lately I’ve been on the hunt for some great new pieces for fall, and I’m loving tons of items that are currently up for sale at Dear Golden Vintage. She is just so good and finding these great pieces and styling them. These are some of my favorites:

Autumn Traditions: Apple Picking

Kristin and Matt came into town in Sunday, and we went to Carter Mountain to take part in our favorite autumn tradition: Apple Picking. Cider slushies, apple donuts, apple butter, and those greater apple scooper thingies all made the day fabulous. And don't forget about the view.

Karen O: The awesomest of ladies

As if I needed another reason to be excited about Where The Wild Things Are. Karen O (and the kids) are the source for the music for the Soundtrack, which you can listen to here. Make sure you check out the Daniel Johnston cover of "Worried Shoes," one of my favorite songs both in its original and cover states. Six years in counting and my love for Karen O just keeps on growing.

Edward Scissorhands

I definitely am a huge Tim Burton fan, and last night The Paramount was screening Edward Scissorhands for its Monday Night Movie Series. From the brightly colored suburban neighborhoods to Winona Ryder's ridiculous outfits, this movie is, of course, phenomenal.

A few of my favorite things - "the blues"

So I think it's time I introduced you to a few things around my house, including my fabulous roommate, scotch aka scotchie, the sweetest snuggliest cat even. Many, many more photos to come, but at the moment I'm dealing with a an SD card in my camera that is busted and only holds ten photos. LAME (both the SD card and the fact that I am too lazy to go to best buy and get a new one).
[getting up close and personal while lounging on the couch]

I think I may try to display a few favorite items around my house once a week from now on, and today we're starting with the blues. My time spent at O'Suz has forced me to color code my own apartment. It's a little out of control.

I know this is old news but

I really love this Fjällräven Kanken mini backpack. I absolutely adore it. And the fact that it comes in the color pink. Though I think I'll still with Baltic Sea.
