Scotch makes a friend

Earlier this week Scotch was meowing at a cat friend through the window. The neighbor cat just stared back at her. Also I am well aware that I need to post more non-cat-related things.

Weekend Adventure

So last weekend, as i mentioned before, my friends and I headed out of town to avoid the UVA graduation crowds (though we ended up having breakfast and dinner in charlottesville so I don't know if we really avoided anything). So after much consideration, we went to Staunton. I hadn't been there before, and we all wanted to go to Blackfriar's, which is the playhouse for the American Shakespeare Center, so we went for an afternoon performance of Romeo & Juliet. (This would incidentally lead me to purchasing Romeo+Juliet yesterday for dirt cheap at target)

The play was awesome and I definitely recommend going to see something at Blackfriar's if you haven't before. But before and after the show, we just wondered around downtown Staunton, which was a little quiet since it was Sunday. But overall it was a great time, as you can see.

We went to the split banana ice cream shop, where Ashley and I nibbled on some sorbet and James enjoyed a banana split

We walked around Mary Baldwin and Ashley proceeded to make funny faces

And then we headed back to c-ville, but not before stopping at one of the scenic overlooks. Virginia you really are lovely.

It's Friday

And it's graduation weekend here in Charlottesville, the time once a year when every hotel is full and unless you are partaking in the festivities, leaving the house is not a very desirable option. So instead my friends and I are leaving town. Destination is yet to be determined, but I'll let you know where we end up. Here's hoping your weekend is calm and restful.

Lately I just look at cats on the internet

I'm completely in love with the dreamcats tumblr started by anabela and erin. It's motivating me to take more photos of the scotchinator. But for now she and I are just going to snuggle. Too bad neither she nor I are this photogenic when we're out for the night.

I can contain my excitement no further

I'm heading to Lost River Modern in West Virginia for 4th of July this year with a very special group of friends and I could not be more excited. Lots of good food, outdoor activities, bad movie watching and general awesome time having will be going down. I've wanted to go since I first heard of it on Something's Hiding in Here, and I can't believe it's happening!
I mean who wouldn't want to spend a long weekend in this modern prefab cabin in the woods!?

Welcome back (maybe?)

So it's been way too long, and slowly things are calming down so here's hoping that I actually get to post more in the future...but for now I just need to share a clip from one of my favorite films, just because. Man do I love this movie. Steve Zahn, Janeane Garofalo, Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, and the Knack...nothing better than this.
