Oh How I Want this Coat

If you work for much very longer, you'll be known as the boy who's always working.

So I'm back, (yes, Rachel, just cause you asked) and a month into 2010 I'm starting to get back to my normal life. I spent a good chunk of my day listening to a Belle & Sebastian concert on NPR today. It was Mar 6, 2006 at the 930 club with the New Pornographers, and while I was not at that particular show, I did see them two days earlier at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. It was at that show that I bought one of my most prized pieces of artwork.

And while my b&s memorabilia doesn't rival the collections of some (aka miss jessica), I have always felt like this band's memorabilia isn't just your typical band tshirt or pin. Just like the music, it's something you live with, not just use to advertise your interests. So here's a collection of my favorite b&s stuff, new(er) and old. Whenever they finish their new record, may they please rush back to the east coast so i can attend every concert possible.

West Elm Duvet Steal

The West Elm at Short Pump Mall is closing, so I scored a major deal and got this duvet cover and shams for dirt cheap. I'm sad that it's closing, but I lovvvve this duvet cover.

BC Footwear Boots & Megan Auman Cozy

I decided to treat myself to some MUCH needed boots with the Christmas money I received, and I decided to go with this pair. I love that they are convertible, especially since my calved never fit in standard boots, so up or down they are a height that is perfect for me. And they are flexible, great with tights, leggings, under wide leg jeans or over skinny leg jeans. I'm loving them.

I also treated myself to this little coffee cozy from megan auman, made of laser cut felt. Reusable and adorable, I'm loving in [cozy/cuff - reusable cup sleeve and bracelet in dark grey wool felt]

Starting a New Project

So, I'm dogsitting for the next few weeks, for one of my closest friends while she's off in italy teaching, and I love the feeling of taking on a new life when you are staying in someone else's home. This has prompted me to start a new little project. So far it doesn't have very many rules or guidelines, a name, or even really a purpose, I'm just doing it. So I'm planning to leave my computer behind each evening, and spend my time dogsitting without the distraction of the internet. I'm planning on cooking every night, rather than eating out, or eating prepared or frozens meals. And I plan to just spend a lot more time alone, with the company of animals as my exception, reading books, watching tv, listening to music, doing a lot of nothing. This may not last, and I may give in and bring my computer, but right now i feel like it's the perfect detox i need.
