James, this one's for you

I was thinking about how much fun it was to go sailing over Labor Day, and how I wish I had those types of skills. Maybe one day I will learn to sail, and then just sit on my boat and draw. One Day.

How I spend my days

So, now that I've adopted my little scotchie, I think I'm getting more acquainted with the idea of being a cat lady. I found this series of photos on we heart it, and I think I'm cool with being this sort of cat lady. Now I just need to get my digital camera working again so I can start taking way too many cat pictures myself.

I love being an aunt

My brother and sis-in-law just posted pictures of my niece trying on her Halloween costume. I'm sorry but she is just too cute for words.

Also a big congrats to my brother, who was one of the Hair & Cloth Animators for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Very funny movie and #1 in the Box Office!! Good job, brother!

Thief & Bandit

So the Bizarre Market at the Richmond Visual Arts Center was a moderate success. I didn't sell as much as I would have liked, but the vibe of the show was great and I raised visibility and learned a lot from this first show. Most importantly I got to be among so fabulous artists, like clothing and jewelry designer Amie Cunningham and her line Thief & Bandit. I scored a beautiful beadband (photos to come) but her feathery and bold prints and fabric necklaces are really awesome.

New Card Designs

I've obviously been behind on the posting recently. Work, home, and prepping for the Richmond Bizarre Bazaar (I'll be sharing a booth with Miss Carly Romeo) this Sunday, Sept 20th, has been moderately time consuming.
But here is a sneak peek at one of the new card designs that will be going up in the shop this week and will be for sale this Sunday.

Hope you all have been well, and many more posts to come in the next few days. So stop back in!

A New England Weekend

So I just got back from of bit of a whirlwind adventure up to New England with Gin, James and Taylor. Picking up Ginny in New Haven, sailing in Newport, walking around Boston with our friend Nick, and then to Brooklyn for a quick hello to Joe before coming back to Charlottesville. We all live in different states pretty much, so this vacation was a rarity.

A wonderful and beautiful four days with a non-stop repeat of Michael Jackson and Vampire Weekend during the 20-ish hours of driving. The actions of this weekend I think are pretty well summed up in this video:

But James was addicted to this, so we really just listened to this over and over again:

*Ginny just informed me that Vampire Weekend was voted "whitest band" on Stuff White People Like. I felt like I should share that with all of you as a summation of the kind of weekend we had.*
