Mustache magnets from bullfight:

And paper cut prints from Roadside:

I hear the mustache challenge is going on right now in the ASchool

And I'm a little sad to be missing it.

The weekend was completed in Manhattan with trips to:

My room is freezing

But apparently that's nothing in comparison to what I'm about to face in New York. I am heading up for the weekend, and I hope to return with an infinite number of great finds and great stories. If any of you have places to suggest that I visit while I'm in the city, either in Manhattan or in Brooklyn, let me know ASAP.

I'm really just hoping for a little SNOW while I'm there.

Purl

Jessica gave me a heads up about Purl in Soho, so now kezia and I are going to trek there when I go up to new york next weekend. So far, I couldn't be more excited. I have been trying to get into more complicated knits lately. I haven't really mastered mittens yet, but I'm on my way to it. I'm excited to stock up on good yarn, knitting accessories, and to sift through all their little kits like this:

Their blog, the purl bee, is also pretty awesome and is a fab source for knitting and sweing projects with step by step instructions (and photos!). I think these go on my list of projects to do:

Your folks told me you should be left alone on a mountain top, knocking the aeroplanes down with stones

I'm in an Architecture in Helsinki mood again, whether due to their fun jams, their awesome cover art

Or their newest video for That Beep
Kellie Sutherland is so pretty.

I may be a woman, but

That doesn't mean I can't rock myself a good beard thanks to imadeyouabeard

now I just have to decide which of the many colors and styles is most suited to my facial structure and particular personality.

What's Growin' On

Yesterday was a pretty eventful day. I have a friend visiting and we wandered around the downtown mall for a bit on my lunch break. We popped in at O'Suzannah, where they were setting up for their huge massive new year's sale! It begins today January, 3rd, and will last for the next few weeks. I love watching people buy things in there!

We also stopped by Rock Paper Scissors where I found the most awesome cards by Egg Press:

My love for facial hair related stuff continues.

We finished off the night going to see Sweeney Todd at Live Arts, and I really loved it. Dark gruesome tales always make for good musicals.
